In an article from the Dallas Business Journal titled “Hockaday, St. Mark’s rank as best private middle schools in DFW by Niche” by Sydney Asher, Niche released its 2025 rankings of the top private middle schools in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The Hockaday School earned the No. 1 position, followed by St. Mark’s School of Texas at No. 2.
GFF is proud to have provided campus planning, architecture, and interior design services for nearly half of the schools listed in the top 25, including The Hockaday School, St. Mark’s School of Texas, The Episcopal School of Dallas, The Westwood School, Parish Episcopal School, Lakehill Preparatory School, Trinity Valley School, All Saints’ Episcopal School, Trinity Christian Academy, and Southwest Christian School.
The ranking evaluates private schools based on student-to-teacher ratio, academic performance, and college readiness, using data from the U.S. Department of Education and reviews from parents and students. The article also notes that the new Texas Education Freedom Act is expected to increase private school enrollment statewide.
“The Hockaday School took the No. 1 spot in Niche’s annual list of top private middle schools in Dallas-Fort Worth. The all-girls school also took the top spot among Niche’s rankings of the best private elementary schools in DFW…. After Hockaday, St. Mark’s School of Texas took the No. 2 spot among private middle schools.”
