IBP XVII Amenity Center

The Billingsley Company multipurpose pavilion serves as a bright, transparent hub that seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces

Project Brief

Billingsley Company hired GFF to design a 9,300 SF multipurpose pavilion which will serve the north section of the 300-acre International Business Park office campus in Plano, Texas. Daylight will infuse the building perimeter with full height glass allowing direct views to the exterior for a conference center, fitness area and a grab-and-go cafe. Composed of glass and white aluminum, and capped by a thin and elegantly detailed trellis that shades the surrounding outdoor lounge, the transparency of the pavilion and outdoor structure blurs the line between indoor and outdoor space. Situated at the intersection of several key pedestrian pathways and between four office buildings that will vary from 180,000 to 215,000 SF, the pavilion creates a focal meeting point and is surrounded by seating areas under groves of river birch. Functional spaces, such as locker rooms, form the core in the center allowing the more public uses within the building to take advantage of the perimeter views. Specially commissioned art will animate the blank wall along the west side of the building and will be visible from the processional motor court.
