Cole is an Architectural Intern in GFF’s Civic studio, where he contributes to projects serving the public realm, including police and fire stations and other community-focused facilities. His work emphasizes learning the programmatic and operational requirements of civic architecture while supporting design development across the studio.
Currently completing his Master of Architecture at the University of Kansas, Cole is also pursuing a graduate certificate in Urban Design, expected in 2026. He is particularly interested in how architecture can thoughtfully connect people with their environment and sees sustainable solutions as intrinsically tied to understanding the nature of place across urban, suburban, and rural contexts.
Outside the office, Cole explores the intersection of architecture and landscape through photography, both digital and 35mm film. His ongoing series on barn quilts reflects his interest in rural American traditions, while his broader work examines the dialogue between built form and the natural environment. Originally from a ranching background, he enjoys hands-on projects, including the restoration of a motorcycle.
