Ursuline Academy of Dallas – Campus Master Plan

The campus vision embraces both the school’s legacy and its forward-looking academic and cultural goals

Project Brief

Founded in 1874, Ursuline Academy of Dallas is a private Catholic college preparatory high school for young women, located on a park-like 26 acres in north Dallas. The Academy’s leadership recognized that the growth of the student body to 800, coupled with a limited land mass, an aging physical plant, and the evolving sophistication of the curriculum, necessitated long-range planning. A 20-year time horizon was established, and initiatives were prioritized and sequenced into shorter phases for implementation. Key recommendations included a new science and technology wing, conversion of the old gymnasium for performing arts, relocation of the convent, and creation of an outdoor athletics complex. The campus master plan addresses the need for modern, adaptable facilities that support the school’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. The new science and technology wing will provide state-of-the-art learning environments, while the conversion of the old gymnasium for performing arts will enhance the cultural and creative opportunities available to students. The relocation of the convent and the creation of an outdoor athletics complex will optimize the use of the school’s limited land, ensuring a balanced and enriching environment for both academic and extracurricular activities.
