The Vickery

The Vickery transforms a former industrial corridor into a connected, walkable neighborhood of urban residences and dining in Fort Worth’s Near Southside.

Project Brief

The Vickery is a mixed-use development that includes a five-story residential wrap with 307 units, 14 two- and three-bedroom townhomes, and a 4,500-square-foot restaurant. Located just south of downtown Fort Worth in the Near Southside district, the project contributes to the area’s growing urban fabric.

Along West Vickery Boulevard, the varying scales of the wrap, townhomes, and restaurant are composed to define the street edge while creating moments of relief through setbacks and pocket parks. These spaces establish a more engaging and pedestrian-oriented streetscape. To respond to the surrounding industrial warehouse context, the largest building mass is broken down with subtle shifts in form that articulate the façade and define the courtyards between structures.

Because the site sits above the floodplain, the design uses the elevated finish floor as an opportunity to celebrate entry stoops and steps that connect individual units to the street. The exterior palette draws from the area’s industrial character while introducing a contemporary expression. Shared materials and rhythmic detailing across the townhomes and restaurant unify the composition, creating a cohesive identity within the neighborhood.
