Preston Meadow Lutheran Church

GFF designed a new 700-seat sanctuary and classroom addition for a suburban Dallas church, with a focus on enhancing the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the campus. The design reoriented the main entrance away from the busy street, creating a generously sized plaza and a glassy narthex that serves as a welcoming meeting space and links the new addition to the existing buildings. A tall bell tower marks the entrance, providing a visual landmark for the site. The sanctuary features regionally quarried Salado limestone, used both inside and out, to create a sense of continuity and connection with the local environment. The upper volume of the sanctuary and bell tower is clad in a composite siding designed to imitate metal shingles, providing a visually lighter contrast to the stone base and unifying the wall with the roof. The project also includes a classroom addition to support the church’s educational programs, ensuring the campus can accommodate its growing congregation and diverse activities.
