Project Brief

This project is the latest office phase of an established mixed-use development in the DFW Metroplex. The developer engaged GFF to design the lobby and amenities for two separate office towers in the development. The goal for this project was to create an environment that feels modern, comfortable, and inviting, with an emphasis on hospitality-oriented spaces that encourage users to linger, rather than simply passing through to the elevator lobby. Upon entering the two-story lobby, visitors are greeted by a concierge and security desk set against soft curving wood paneling layered over Texas native stone. To the right is an open lounge serving as pre-function space for the adjacent conference and training center. To the left, a double-sided lounge and full-service coffee bar offer a varied mix of seating opportunities for individuals and groups alike, taking full advantage of uninterrupted double-height glass and providing direct connection to an adjacent landscape plaza and pocket park. Within the open lobby, separate uses are delineated by furniture, lighting, and varied ceiling planes. Large custom-fabricated wood chandelier elements with integrated lighting anchor the coffee bar and pre-function lounge. The design incorporates detailing with layered textures, soft edges, and a palette of lighter stone and wood elements throughout, balanced by an abundance of darker metal accents to create a rich, hospitality-inspired feel and experience. The design addresses the need for a modern, inviting office environment that fosters lingering and interaction. By integrating hospitality-oriented spaces and thoughtful detailing, Legacy Union enhances the user experience, making the office towers a desirable destination within the mixed-use development.
