Capital One

A flexible open office environment organized around dynamic collaboration pods

Project Brief

Capital One sought a workspace that reflects their innovative working methodology, fosters creative thinking, and sparks diverse ideas. The flexible open office environment is organized around ‘Pods,’ which include spaces for workstations with mobile tables, large team work areas, smaller collaboration zones, and intimate spaces for focused individual work. The design accommodates various settings where employees can meet informally, find a space to work, or relax away from the open office environment, offering multiple opportunities for impromptu collaboration throughout the building. Each floor of the building is identified with a distinct color to provide wayfinding identification and create different atmospheres for users to experience. The use of wood and textural materials brings a sense of place to the workspace. A combination of acoustical ceiling tiles and exposed ceilings defines work zones and corridor areas, creating a more cohesive experience. The environment is designed to be fun, unique, and dynamic. Additionally, a full-service cafeteria and barista offer amenities for users to take breaks from the open office setting.
