What They Are Saying

At the recent Bisnow DFW Architecture and Design Summit, GFF CEO Evan Beattie offered expert commentary on the evolving urban fabric of Downtown Dallas. As the city faces a transition period regarding major corporate headquarters and civic facilities, Beattie emphasized that this “crossroads” represents a prime opportunity to reinvent the downtown core as a more pedestrian-friendly and welcoming environment.

Drawing on the successful precedents set by Uptown, Beattie highlighted the importance of integrating strategic landscaping and design elements that effectively buffer pedestrians from vehicular traffic. By creating safer, more deliberate streetscapes, GFF believes the city can foster a stronger sense of community and connectivity. This approach to urban planning serves as a blueprint for transforming underutilized city blocks into vibrant spaces that encourage foot traffic and long-term economic growth.
