Woodlake Church expanded its campus with a contemporary facility designed to serve a growing suburban congregation and community
Project Brief
Woodlake Church, located in Bixby, Oklahoma, embarked on an exciting expansion to better serve its growing community. The church, positioned on a 17-acre former tree farm, is surrounded by residential developments in the rapidly growing suburb of Tulsa. This new facility, designed by GFF’s Faith & Community Studio in collaboration with Goff Companies the General Contractor, features a contemporary 27,000-square-foot building that includes a 500-seat worship space, children’s education areas, a community commons, and various support areas.
The design of the building incorporates a range of modern materials and features, including anodized aluminum canopies, painted concrete tilt walls, wood grain fiber cement siding, corrugated metal panels, and stucco. The interior of the building boasts a loft-like commons area with exposed structure, stained concrete flooring, clear-sealed MDF paneling, and painted drywall. Brightly colored furnishings and accent walls add a vibrant touch to the space, creating a welcoming environment for both the main and children’s worship spaces. The contemporary worship experience is enhanced by state-of-the-art lighting and audio-video equipment. The design not only accommodates the needs of the congregation but also aims to integrate seamlessly into the surrounding community, making Woodlake Church a significant hub for spiritual and social gatherings.
