Project Brief

GFF has collaborated with Good Shepherd Episcopal Church and School in Dallas, Texas, for the past fifteen years, focusing on various planning and architectural projects. This partnership has included the development of a new 17,000-square-foot Middle School, a new 26,000-square-foot Lower School, and an 18,000-square-foot Learning Center, Library, and Science Lab addition. The latest comprehensive Master Plan addresses the current and future space needs of both the church congregation and the 750-student private school situated on their ten-acre campus. The Master Plan strategically unifies the church and school through architectural enhancements. Key elements include an expanded dining hall, a new parish hall, new church transepts, a new gymnasium, a fine arts wing, and a new learning center. These additions create a cohesive campus layout that links the existing church and school facilities. The phased implementation of these projects ensures that all entities can eventually access expanded, multi-use spaces and activity areas, supporting the church and school’s missions of fostering community and educational excellence. This project exemplifies the work of GFF’s Faith & Community Studio, highlighting their commitment to designing spaces that serve both spiritual and educational purposes, thereby enhancing the overall campus experience for all members of the Good Shepherd community.
