Janet Spees serves as a Project Leader with GFF, contributing her talent for Architecture primarily in the Mixed-Use & Multifamily studio. A graduate of the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Interior Design in 2009 and Washington University with an MArch in 2012, Janet joined GFF in 2021, bringing a wealth of experience and a keen eye for detail.
Janet’s expertise lies in Multifamily, Hospitality, and K-12 design, with a focus on interior detailing, coordination, and project management. Her experience includes TCC’s Legacy Square, Mockingbird Station East, and Grapevine Mills projects in addition to a mixed-use project for RXR and the design of GFF’s exciting new Dallas Headquarters space. She was an important team member on the renovation and adaptive reuse of The National in Downtown Dallas for Merriman Associates and the design of the Notre Dame School while working at Perkins & Will.
Janet is driven by a passion for good design, coupled with a commitment to organization, consistent communication, and teamwork. In addition to her professional contributions, she actively engages with the design community as a member of the AIA and has been involved in various community initiatives, including serving on the Columns Committee (2016-2021), mentoring with Big Brothers, Big Sisters (2018-2022), participating in Bark and Build (2021-2022), and contributing to CANstruction in various years. Her dedication to excellence, collaboration, and community involvement make her an invaluable asset to the GFF team.

Life Fellowship Church Unveils Newly Transformed Campus
GFF developed a new comprehensive campus master plan for Life Fellowship Church (LFC) located in McKinney, Texas, which includes renovation and expansion of their current campus to include a 1,200-seat future worship center, a weekday preschool, additional adult classrooms, and an administrative suite on a very compact site.
Protecting Our Feathered Friends
As cities grow and buildings become taller, the need to protect the earth's bird population is becoming more urgent. Thankfully, there are solutions to mitigate the problem, including guidelines for bird friendly glazing selections and building design features.
