Park Place – Lexus of Plano

Park Place Lexus of Plano broke ground in May of 2012, and will celebrate its Grand Opening on September 1. Twenty-two years ago, Park Place Dealerships opened their first all-new dealership for Lexus, then a new brand of luxury automobile, at the southwest corner of Preston Road and Plano Parkway. That flagship store was the catalyst which sparked their growth and helped them build the reputation as ‘Experts in Excellence’. For the past 15 years GFF has assisted Park Place with over one million square feet of dealership space in Texas, California and Nevada, including a dozen different expansions to the original Plano Lexus store alone. When it became clear that the Plano Parkway site could not accommodate future needs, GFF was engaged to help Ken Schnitzer, Chairman of Park Place Dealerships, to envision their new home, consolidating their current program and providing a framework for growth over the decades to come. At 50 feet tall, a highly visible ‘fin’ ascends in a sweeping motion through the showroom, (its apex punctuated by the ‘Lexus’ symbol) to capture the views of motorists on the Dallas North Tollway. Occupying 27.5 acres at the southwest corner of Spring Creek Parkway and the Tollway, the site parks over 1,400 new, pre-owned, loan, service and customer cars. The new facility will house a 14-car showroom, 19 covered exterior displays, a 61-seat customer lounge with ‘Admiral’s Club’-style food service, 106 service stalls, 31 prep bays and DFW’s largest luxury car service drive-in at five lanes wide and five cars deep. As part of the complimentary Park Place membership program, customers’ cars are washed in a pair of 100 foot long automated wash tunnels.
