GFF is a distinguished award-winning multi-disciplinary design firm based in Dallas with a record of success that began with our founding in 1982. Today our staff of 140 offers architecture, interior design, planning and landscape architecture throughout the US. In recent years we have received national rankings that include: ARCHITECT 50 (#1 US firm for business), Engineering News-Record magazine’s Top 500 Design Firms, Top 100 Green Design Firms and Top Texas Design Firms, Best Places to Work by the Dallas Business Journal and GIANTS 300 Top Architectural Firms by Building Design and Construction magazine. Over the years, we have had successful engagements spanning a broad range of building types and diverse experience with corporate, real estate, and institutional clients.
At GFF, “distinguished” means more than “on time and within budget,” as important as those requirements are. The highest value we bring to a client is derived from our creativity and dynamic thinking. As a design-focused, strong-idea firm, we savor the challenges of unique projects that demand leading-edge solutions and have resulted in more than 125 awards for design excellence. Yet we are business-oriented, well-grounded in strategic thinking and have a strong commitment to client objectives. Asked to articulate a design philosophy, we emphasize innovation, sustainability, lasting value – an architecture well-suited for clients and appropriate for its time and context.
An important part of our culture is leader-ship. We’ve served at high levels in both professional and civic organizations, and we’re well-connected in the community and in circles of local government. After many years of moving complex projects through to successful completion, we have mastered the nuances of the planning and development process.
How much more can we tell you about our firm in just a few words? Not as much as we’d like to. And not as much as we’d need to in order to capture fully what we do. And, more important, how we excel at it, and just how passionate we are about it. So we invite you to visit our offices, get to know us, and discover the depth of what we have to offer. Feel the energy, the dynamic spirit of the place. Observe why aspiring new professionals, eager to make a difference, would seek us out. And see why the clients who come our way for one project tend to come back for more.
Services and Structure
GFF serves as the overall corporate umbrella for four divisions: GFF Architecture, comprising ten distinct studios specializing in different practice areas; GFF Interior Design, offering full-service interior design capabilities across a full spectrum of building types; GFF Planning, providing land use planning, campus master planning, urban design and zoning processing assistance; and GFF Landscape Architecture, providing landscape architecture. Each specialized architecture studio, as well as each remaining division, is led by a principal or associate principal. This “firm within a firm” structure provides clients all the benefits of a small-firm relationship within a context of large-firm resources. Committed to the role of a full-service resource to our clients, we are pleased to provide comprehensive services starting with project definition and master planning through architectural and interior design, and documentation to the completion of construction administration. We also offer a division called GFF Media, providing a wide range of visualization services from still images or animated format, up to and including high definition video with soundtrack. In 2014, we opened an office in Fort Worth’s Cultural District to better serve our friends and clients in the western half of the DFW region. With an increasing share of the firm’s workload coming from relationships with Austin-based entities, we opened our Austin office in April 2018.
As 2023 gets underway, we at GFF are filled with excitement and gratitude as we celebrate the promotion of 25 talented employees.
GFF is excited to announce three new principals as our firm continues to expand its reach and add diversity of expertise and perspective to our Principal team
In a post-pandemic world where employees may be reluctant to return to the office full time, the inventory of empty or partially occupied buildings continues to grow.
We are excited about the opening of this year’s State Fair of Texas and proud of GFF’s role in the preservation and ongoing revitalization of Fair Park
