Mr. Pontious, Associate Principal and Studio Director at GFF, has over 30 years of experience in the architecture and construction industry, devoting the past 20 years to civic, municipal, mixed-use and multifamily projects. From initial client contact through the final stages of construction, Kent has experience in managing all aspects of a project. With degrees in both Architecture and Construction from Texas A&M University, he has a reputation for well thought out and well documented drawings that are not only complete, but have resulted in extremely low change order instances. He has worked for a general contractor, a design-build firm, as well as traditional architecture firms giving him unique insight and understanding of the total design and construction business.
As a LEED Accredited Professional for more than 15 years, Kent has successfully certified 8 Civic and Municipal projects acting as the LEED Administrator. All of his projects have exceeded the LEED Certification goal level most significant additional cost.
Mr. Pontious’ projects have been recognized with many local and national design and construction awards, and have been featured in several magazine articles. He has also been a guest speaker at a national justice convention discussing his contributions on several regional police facilities.
