Working alongside Studio Barnes, Ch_studio and JIMA Studio, GFF Design is helping transform a historic Fort Worth building into a center serving communities once targeted by the KKK.
Dezeen spotlights the design for the Transform 1012 Center for Arts and Community Healing, an adaptive reuse project that confronts the history of a former Ku Klux Klan building in Fort Worth. Our team at GFF Design is collaborating with Studio Barnes, Ch_studio and landscape architects JIMA Studio to reimagine the 35,000-square-foot structure as a place for cultural expression, education and connection. The design preserves portions of the historic brick facade while opening the site through new passageways, gathering spaces and landscape. Led by the Transform 1012 N Main Street coalition, the project will provide performance venues, makerspaces, classrooms and other resources for communities historically targeted by the KKK’s violence and exclusion.
