Levi Hooten earned his BArch degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville’s College of Architecture & Design in 2010 where he received a Chancellor’s citation for “Extraordinary Professional Promise.” He spent a semester abroad at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany and received the Hnedak Bobo Global Design Award for his conceptual design of a new Bauhaus Museum. His most notable achievement during school came as he and three other undergraduate students were awarded the top prize and a significant federal grant by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in its annual P3 Competition for Sustainability in Washington D.C. The project, A New Norris House, blossomed into the University of Tennessee’s largest design-build program to date, receiving several design awards including an AIA COTE Top Ten honor in 2013. Levi was hired by the University immediately upon graduation in a teaching and construction management role to shepherd the project successfully through completion.
Levi joined GFF in 2012 and was named an Associate in 2019. He has worked on projects ranging from automobile dealerships to multi family residential. He is crucial to his team, working closely with project architects to ensure success in design and construction documents. He is a passionate designer and also serves as a member of GFF’s web development team, showing strong proficiency in software that ranges from parametric modeling to web content management.
