Portrait of a GFFer: Shannon Fahey

Meet Shannon Fahey! Shannon joined us in 2021 and is a Senior Accounting Coordinator!

“My favorite thing about working at GFF is that I grew up in DFW, so I love hearing about the upcoming projects and changes that are taking place across the metroplex.  The cityscape is constantly changing and it’s exciting getting the inside scoop on upcoming projects and then being able to watch them come to fruition. I’m also grateful for my team and the opportunities we’ve had to learn from each other and grow as a team and on an individual level. The work/life balance is also a great bonus!”

When Shannon isn’t working, she loves to be outside walking if not sitting on a porch watching all the critters do their thing. She tends to collect plants and animals. She has 2 pit bulls and 3 cats that she loves and cares for and more plants that she can count.  She really likes to propagate the plants she has, so she’s constantly gifting or selling her “extras.” When Shannon travels, she’s usually heading to the coast because her mom lives in Florida and her boyfriend loves to fish. The one condition she has is that her dogs come with her! She also just started roller blading and is looking into joining the Irish American Society of Dallas. Some of her other hobbies include reading, listening to podcasts or watching YouTube videos on whatever topic she’s into at the moment. Right now, she’s into history, psychology, nutrition, social sciences, and the paranormal (especially during spooky season)! Her favorite forms of entertainment consist of Stand-up comedy, Rodeos, Monster Truck Jams, Classic Car shows, and the occasional sporting event.

A fun fact about Shannon is that she lives in a historic German farmhouse that’s over 130 years old. She says it’s taken a village to help her maintain the property and fix it up, so she’s very blessed to have friends and family help her keep up her dream home. It’s a never-ending project!

Thank you for all that you do Shannon, we are so lucky to have you!
