Michael R. Lehr has over 20 years of experience as an architect and project manager specializing in church design. His role includes managing complex projects from initial feasibility studies and master planning through construction administration. He joined GFF in 2016 to work in the firm’s Church Works Studio and was named Studio Director in 2023. Mike immediately became a valuable member of the team with his emphasis on client relationships and intimate knowledge of working with building committees and church staff. He enjoys learning about church culture and trends and applies this knowledge to his projects. Mike previously worked for a lighting designer and served on a zoning hearing board.
He earned his Bachelor of Architecture in 1999 from Drexel University. He greatly values community outreach and provides pro bono design services for local and international nonprofit organizations. Mike is a certified layspeaker in the United Methodist Church, and an active member of First United Methodist Church in Richardson. He loves teaching and mentoring. Outside of the office, he enjoys being outdoors, photography, and spending time with his family.
