Associate Principal + Director of Civic Practice
University of Nebraska
As Director of Civic Practice, Jason Cave is passionate about creating memorable places in the public realm. His 15 years of experience have been solely focused on public work that aims to create spaces to better serve their communities. Prior to joining GFF, Jason spent his professional time working for OPN Architects in Cedar Rapids and BRW Architects in Dallas. Jason has extensive experience in leading large complex projects with multiple stakeholders and user groups. He has led a multitude of projects from conceptual design through construction and is focused on maintaining the client’s vision throughout the process.
Most recently, Jason developed a focus on civic work, specifically public safety project types. These projects emphasize civic pride, operational efficiency and security for staff and the public. His leadership on these projects creates an environment of healthy dialogue and collaboration where the best ideas win, ultimately leading to projects that exemplify the ideals of the community they represent.

Architecture
Our decades-long commitment to workplace culture, the enrichment of our cities, and design excellence has earned us numerous accolades, including the prestigious TxA Architecture Firm Award in 2019.
Design Maxims
GFF's Design Maxims are a set of guidelines that the firm uses to ensure that our design process is consistent and effective. At a minimum, we seek to deliver design work that is thoughtful and successful in seven different areas.
Firm History
A 40th anniversary places GFF in rare company. Only a very small handful of design firms in Dallas can claim a longevity of this duration. It takes calculated foresight, dedication, stamina, and perhaps even a little luck, to successfully navigate any type of business – much less an architectural practice – through 40 years of cautious but sustained growth in a sometimes-volatile market and economy.
