GFF designed a major expansion and renovation to the Dallas Academy Campus near White Rock Lake. The two-story addition of 22,900 square feet includes a new library, a student assembly/cafeteria, three science labs, an administrative office suite, and seven classrooms, including specialized science and writing labs. The existing 14,560 square foot building was renovated to accommodate a new lower school component. Each of these facilities embraces a newly landscaped courtyard. The renovation also included expanded seating for the existing gymnasium, and the site was expanded to ease vehicular traffic flow and provide 100 parking spaces.
Dallas Academy’s mission is to restore the promise of full academic enrichment to students with learning differences. This expansion and renovation align with the academy’s commitment to providing a supportive and comprehensive educational environment. The new library is designed to foster academic research and a love for reading, while the student assembly/cafeteria offers a multifunctional space for gatherings and daily activities. The three state-of-the-art science labs facilitate hands-on learning and scientific exploration. The administrative office suite enhances operational efficiency, and the specialized classrooms provide optimal learning environments. The newly landscaped courtyard enhances the campus’s aesthetic appeal, and the expanded gymnasium seating accommodates more spectators during events. Improved traffic flow and additional parking spaces support the growing needs of the academy’s community.
