Grapevine, Texas
In 2015, GFF was tasked by Park Place Dealerships to extend their long-term relationship with the City of Grapevine by designing a new Porsche dealership for Park Place’s Grapevine campus at the corner of 114 and Texan Trail. The new 61,000-square-foot facility is the largest Porsche dealership in North America and includes a large showroom and a 24-stall service garage, and is notable for its 100% metal panel façade and large skylight.
The project was a close collaboration between Park Place and Porsche North America, challenging GFF to carefully integrate the program requirements of this established client with Porsche brand standards and Grapevine zoning regulations. The facility is anticipated to receive LEED certification and will be one of Park Place’s first projects to integrate a large electric vehicle sales and service operation. This new programmatic offering required extensive coordination between all parties, which, when juxtaposed with the facility’s classic car showroom, illustrates the emerging future of the automotive industry while respecting the brand’s historic past.
The design addresses the need for a state-of-the-art automotive facility that aligns with both Porsche’s brand identity and modern sustainability standards. By incorporating a metal panel façade and a large skylight, the dealership achieves a sleek, contemporary aesthetic. The integration of electric vehicle services alongside classic car showrooms showcases the evolving nature of the automotive industry, blending innovation with tradition. The project exemplifies a forward-thinking approach to automotive retail, meeting the diverse needs of today’s market.
