Monitronics

The new national headquarters for Monitronics is a 3-story 165,000SF build-to-suit facility in Billingsley Company’s Mercer Crossing Business Park. The building, also developed by Billingsley, includes a 24/7 operations center and numerous amenities for Monitronics’ 1,300 employees. GFF provided master planning, architectural, interior design and landscape architectural services. The master plan includes three buildings with a central park featuring a large scale sculpture anchoring the development. A hike and bike trail hugs the lake and connects to a trail network extending west. The trail is flanked with a series of trees and art gateways that create a sense of place at each transition. The Monitronics site is approximately 15.5 acres and accommodates an 8 per 1,000 SF parking ratio due to shift overlaps in their 24-hour/day alarm monitoring operation. The building sits along the lake edge to maximize water views and highway visibility. The lakeside setting influenced the linear configuration of the building. The offset wings articulate the main entrance, marked by a composite metal frame and large expanse of glass that includes the lobby and a stair, making the main entry plaza more dynamic. The painted concrete wall utilizes a precise rhythm of windows within a master grid that threads through the window
