First United Methodist Church of Richardson – Celebration Hall

Richardson, Texas

GFF worked with First United Methodist Church of Richardson to expand and enhance their campus located on a 20-acre site at 503 North Central Expressway. This expansion aimed to accommodate current and projected growth in various ministry areas, ensuring the church continues to meet the needs of its congregation and the broader community. The heart of this expansion is the Ministry Center, which serves as the organizational hub, connecting various worship and administrative components under one roof.

The Ministry Center includes a 500-seat Worship and Arts space designed for contemporary worship, theatrical performances, concerts, and lectures. Celebration Hall, located on the first floor, provides a multi-purpose community gathering space and banquet hall, while the second floor houses centralized administrative offices. Additionally, a new Music Suite at the east end of the existing sanctuary offers rehearsal space for the choir and children’s music ministries, along with offices for the church’s music ministry.

The final component of the expansion involved renovating the existing Family Life Center, which now features new worship and lounge spaces for the youth program. These updates reflect the church’s commitment to fostering community engagement, spiritual growth, and creative expression, ensuring that the facilities support a wide range of activities and services.

This project, executed by GFF’s Faith & Community Studio, highlights the firm’s dedication to designing functional and inspiring spaces that enhance the church’s mission and serve the community effectively.
