he new children’s ministry addition features a dynamic curved drop-off canopy and a bright, glazed entrance that welcomes children and parents alike
GFF worked with First Baptist Church Lewisville to develop a comprehensive Phase One design for additions and renovations to their existing 20-acre campus. This project focuses on creating secure and vibrant spaces for children’s and students’ ministries, along with more inviting entry experiences. The design includes a 21,000-square-foot children’s ministry addition on the northwest side of the campus, featuring 10 new break-out classrooms and two large group spaces dedicated to worship and both indoor and outdoor play. This new addition also boasts a dynamic curved drop-off canopy and a dedicated children’s entrance enhanced with vibrant colors and glazing, creating a welcoming atmosphere for children and parents alike.
On the southeast side of the campus, the exterior wall of an existing stair tower was replaced with a glazing system to create an inviting entrance to the newly renovated student spaces on the second floor. A new steel-framed canopy wraps the corner of the building, providing shade and weather protection for the office entrance. The 8,300 square feet of renovated second-floor space includes a large group area for worship, a comfortable lounge for students to hang out, and offices for the student ministry staff.
This project, executed by GFF’s Faith & Community Studio, underscores the firm’s dedication to creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces that cater to the needs of all age groups within the church community.
