The Womble Studio was recently tasked by a client of ours to help conceptualize and site plan ideas for a potential biergarten-style restaurant space next to one of our multifamily projects under construction in Dallas. As such, we headed down from the office to nearby Katy Trail Icehouse for some inspiration, food and a good, old-fashioned design charrette. The lunch hour was very productive and enjoyable, as the collaborative effort yielded a number of good ideas to move forward with conceptually. We even saw the evolution of the traditional ‘napkin sketch’ find its way to a tortilla chip; Texas style! With some new faces around the studio, this exercise was a great way to build the team and promote GFF’s design culture, and we hope and plan to do more of this type of thing in the future.
