Woodlake Church Master Plan

The leaders of Woodlake Church, wanting to spread the Gospel message beyond the bounds of their current facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma, selected 17 acres of a former tree farm surrounded by housing developments in the burgeoning suburb of Bixby. Befitting a younger demographic, the Faith & Community Studio of GFF (in collaboration with Goff Companies, a design-build contractor) designed a contemporary 27,000 square foot facility housing a worship space expandable to 500 seats, children’s education areas, a community commons, and associated support areas. Anodized aluminum canopies shade the main building entrances and provide slick counterpoints to the other exterior materials – painted concrete tilt walls, wood grain fiber cement siding, corrugated metal panels, and stucco. Inside the loft-like Commons, a subdued palette of exposed structure, stained concrete flooring, clear-sealed MDF paneling and painted drywall is complemented by brightly-colored furnishings and accent walls. In both the main and the children’s worship spaces, state-of-the-art lighting and audio-video equipment round out the contemporary worship experience.
