Visalia First Assembly of God Church

Visalia, California

Faced with significant growth, Visalia First Assembly of God in Visalia, California, expanded its Akers campus with a new 65,000-square-foot Worship Center and Community Center. This project, part of their vision to accommodate the increasing congregation, includes a 3,000-seat Worship Center and a generous Community Commons area.

The design of the new facilities emphasizes community engagement, with exterior amenities such as native plants and trees enhancing the drop-off drive, outdoor speakers for gatherings, and provisions for colorful art banners and an outdoor movie screen. The worship center, one of the largest in the region, also features an integrated dance floor, making it a versatile venue for local theater and performing arts, in addition to religious gatherings.

Inside, the Community Commons hosts a café, a Welcome Center, and information centers, creating a welcoming space for congregants and visitors alike. The area is designed to support exhibitions featuring local artists, further embedding the church within the cultural fabric of the community.
