Village on the Parkway

Addison, Texas

Village on the Parkway was developed in the late 1970’s as Sakowitz Village, dominated originally by a 3-story, 150,000 SF high end department store. By 2008, the anchor space was vacant and the center was struggling. Enter Lincoln Property Company and The Retail Connection with GFF to re-envision the property with two key moves. Whole Foods Market was positioned on the site of the demolished anchor store to turn its back on the intersection and face its parking field south to bring new energy to the small shops in the heart of the project. And a 14-screen AMC cinema was attracted to vacant land at the south edge, served by a new parking structure, and breathes new life into the formerly quiet south half of the center. These major interventions, coupled with a facade renovation of the shops to remain, new landscape, wayfinding and sculpture pylon signage are totally transforming the property.
