Dallas, Texas
The Emerald Bracelet is a proposed 5.2-mile hike/bike trail that follows the inner highway loop of Downtown Dallas. This project aims to provide convention-goers and downtown residents easy access to green spaces while enhancing the image of downtown for thousands of drivers. Initiated in 2003 by Mayor Laura Miller’s Inside the Loop Committee and funded by The Dallas Foundation, the study examined the feasibility and strategy for implementing this ambitious project.
The plan utilizes existing public rights-of-way and infrequently used surface parking areas where possible, as well as privately owned land through landscape easements. TBG Partners provided landscape architectural services, and Jacobs served as transportation consultants. The Emerald Bracelet aims to transform downtown Dallas into a pedestrian-friendly environment, connecting various neighborhoods and promoting a healthier, more walkable city.
