Northridge Presbyterian Church Education Buildings

Dallas, Texas

Northridge Presbyterian Church was challenged with older education classrooms with low ceilings, small windows and unusable space. GFF proposed replacing the outdated education spaces and increasing the square footage on the ground floor level to accommodate the older members of the congregation and day school that needed to be on the ground floor. The children’s classrooms were consolidated into one area with a secure entrance. Large windows in the classrooms provide natural light in the rooms and views to the exterior. Because an existing court-yard was rarely seen due to the double loaded corridor and limited windows, GFF proposed moving the circulation to run adjacent to the courtyard. Large storefront windows in the corridor allow the congregation to experience the courtyard when walking through the building. Outdoor patios overlooking the playground and adjacent grove of trees create a strong connect to the outdoors.
