First Baptist Church Plano

Plano, Texas

First Baptist Plano has a rich history and for the last 165 years has been a strong part of the community. To ensure they remain strong for another 165 years, they decided change was needed. In 2018, GFF was engaged by First Baptist Plano to help fulfill their “Church on a Hill” campaign to relocate to a highly visible location off the President George Bush Turnpike in Plano, Texas. The new campus consists of a central commons area which connects the church in a seamless and dynamic way allowing easy access to all ministries of the church and replacing the traditional fellowship hall.

The Sanctuary has been designed to allow for both traditional and blended worship styles and currently seats 500 but is capable of being expanded in the future to accommodate 750. The preschool wing consists of 14 colorful and bright classrooms with a central large group area which will also be home to the Church’s Awana Clubs. On the opposite side of the commons the youth have been given their own dedicated hangout / snack lounge which is connected to a youth large group worship room and classrooms which with be shared with the adult ministry. The large exterior wall of windows into the commons allows views of the many activities going on at the church and a large cross tower will be a visible beacon for connecting with the surrounding Plano community. Construction is expected to be complete Summer 2021.
