First Baptist Church Garland Children’s Hall Renovation

Knowing that top-notch children’s facilities often help attract families, FBC-Garland
decided to update its children’s wing as one of the first steps to implementing its
plan to remain in downtown Garland. After researching successful programs around
the Metroplex, the Children’s Minister eschewed the more common theme
approach in favor of a colorful, yet contemporary one. To increase visibility, Good
Fulton & Farrell replaced a masonry wall with storefront and enlarged the reception
area where colorful backlit acrylic, carpet squares and paint help to draw visitors
through the check-in process. The existing double-loaded corridor and classrooms
beyond were refreshed with brightly painted walls and alcoves, a sprinkling of
colorful carpet squares and strategically lit original children’s artwork. Playful modern
furnishings chosen by the Owner round out the renovation.
