Right off the Dallas Farmers Market nestled in between the banking east and westbound lanes of Cesar Chavez Boulevard, is the City Futsal complex. Previously an abandoned parking lot, now transformed in unison with the new look Dallas Farmers Market, the complex features an array of sport courts oriented for both leisure and formal competitions. The GFF Landscape team worked hand in hand with the client, through the different stages of design development, to make what was envisioned come to life. The complex features multiple plush sand volleyball courts, a open dividable turf pitch in addition to a large pavilion housing a hard-surfaced pitch. For the hot Dallas summer days, a bar cabana was also included to enhance the adult leisure opportunities. Serving as a much-needed recreational outlet in the area, the space also reutilizes a traffic underpass converting it into a pedestrian accessway from the market corridor, creating a protected travel path for all ages eager to visit the complex.
