Clear Creek Shopping Center
The 265,000 SF Clear Creek Shopping Center for AAFES will provide Fort Hood with a marketplace featuring a food court with seven food concepts, a mall with nearly two dozen services & concessions, a state of the art pharmacy, a dental clinic with 14 treatment rooms, and a branch of Ft. Hood National Bank. The facade of the shopping center uses a variety of materials in a layered manner to visually break down a very large building into smaller components. Stone veneer, face brick, wood composite panels and painted concrete tilt wall are used on the main portions of the façade. Individual and unique steel framed canopies provide visual identity to three entrances into the mall and food court. The intent is to create an architectural vocabulary that references existing buildings on the post, accommodates Fort Hood’s requirements and sensitively alludes to the regional hill country aesthetic. This building is designed to obtain LEED Silver Certification at the completion of the project.
