Christ United Methodist Church Landscape

Seeking an adaptive concept to foster outdoor ministry, Christ United Methodist Church in College Station brought in the GFF team to re-envision their campus in its new expansion. To create a naturalistic environment for worship and help reduce the future maintenance of the site, the landscape team focused on implementing native plant species hardy to the climate. Rising up out of this native flora is a monumental cross, softly lit at night, creating a powerful backdrop for the intimate worship area throughout the day. At its base rests a tranquil baptistry, suited for large services as well as individual reflection. A new grand walk guides visitors to the building’s new addition and youth wing, complete with a revamped playground fitted for heavy use.
