CBD Comprehensive Transportation Study

DART’s light rail system expansion, coupled with a thoroughfare plan now 30 years old, has triggered the need to conduct a coordinated and comprehensive study of transportation systems in Downtown Dallas. Jacobs Engineering is serving as prime contractor for the work, with GFF responsible to develop the future land use vision upon which the transportation modeling will be based. Goals for the study include identifying a second corridor for light rail to move through downtown and development of a strategy for a more “pedestrian-friendly” core area which is “traffic-calmed.”
