Austin Ranch Office Landscape

The Colony, Texas

Located within 700 acre Offices of Austin Ranch development, the Billingsley Company called upon GFF Planning to design and develop their newest phase of office development. This proposed 17 acre site will include two phases of office buildings, with the first phase including two buildings having 110,000 SF of space. One of these buildings is becoming the new national headquarters for Sanyo Energy U.S.A Corp. With the picturesque rolling Texas hills that are located throughout the site, the plant palette of multiple types of native, drought tolerant grasses and trees were utilized throughout the site. At the building entries and outdoor amenity area within the central plaza space, linear concrete pavers were utilized to reinforce the linear form of the building, while providing a nice aesthetic change from concrete. Other design elements that can be found within the site are creative, usable seating areas with low seat walls and multiple types of seating opportunities, simple linear shade structures that are in keeping with the building architecture, sculptural elements that provide focal points in to the central plaza space, and decorative site lighting that provides safety at night.
