Dallas, Texas
In 2011, Mayor Laura Miller appointed a diverse committee of private and public sector leaders to develop a strategic business plan for the revitalization of Downtown Dallas. Larry Good sits as a non-voting member of the Committee, and GFF has volunteered significant time to serve as the “pencil,” translating the spoken goals and priorities of the Committee into a physical plan for Downtown.
The strategic plan includes key components such as “Linkages,” “The Greening of Downtown,” and “Transportation and Parking.” These elements are unified into an overall strategies map and a prioritized list of top five initiatives for action. This plan serves as a blueprint for revitalization, focusing on improving connectivity, enhancing green spaces, and optimizing transportation and parking infrastructure.
The plan aims to create a more vibrant, accessible, and sustainable downtown area. Some of the major projects include developing new parks, enhancing pedestrian pathways, and integrating more public transportation options. This comprehensive approach is designed to foster a more dynamic urban environment that supports both business and residential growth, contributing to the ongoing transformation of Downtown Dallas into a premier destination for both locals and visitors.
