Portrait of a GFFer: Jason Bennett

Meet Jason Bennett. Born in Syracuse, New York and raised in Tampa Florida from the age of three, Jason only wanted to be three things when he was growing up: first, an Animator, second, an Archaeologist, finally, an Architect. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Design, Jason completed his Master’s in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. Read below for more about Jason!

  1. I was married in a hurricane to my high school sweetheart. The limo and photographer cancelled. We found a replacement photographer but decided to not take a lot of outdoor photos.
  2. I was a long haired skater in high school, complete with chain wallet.
  3. I have two adopted siblings. They’re 6 and 7 years younger than I and still live in Florida.
  4. I spent five years teaching architecture at Trimble Tech High School in Fort Worth.
  5. I rebuilt a 1967 Mustang with my father for my first car.
  6. I can juggle. I stick to blunt objects though.
  7. I speak some Spanish thanks to fun fact number 4.
  8. I had the honor of breaking ground of the A&M Bonfire Memorial for the family of Christopher Breen, former member of my squadron.
  9. I have used a 1947 Caterpillar bulldozer to clear pastures at my in-laws farm.
  10. I was a cadet in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University. Whoop!
