Portrait of a GFFer: Idaliza Camacho

Meet Idaliza Camacho. She relocated to Dallas from Puerto Rico to work at GFF as a Senior Project Coordinator and member of Sower Studio. She completed a Bachelor’s of Environmental Design and a Master of Architecture Degree, both at the University of Puerto Rico. See below for more about Idaliza!

  1. I was born in the Dominican Republic, where I had a remarkable childhood. I relocated with my family to Puerto Rico where I lived until we moved to Dallas in the summer of 2015.
  2. I am the third of three girls. I also have one older brother and two half-brothers (Father’s side).
  3. One of my favorite vacations was to Disney World. It was my 6-year-old daughter Elena’s first time in Disney and her happiness and joy were priceless.
  4. I have loved to draw since I was a child. I began experimenting on canvas almost a year ago.
  5. One of my favorite museums (so far) is Musée d’Orsay, particularly the Impressionist collection.
  6. I do well cooking randomly without recipes (or modifying recipes). A food and wine pairing I like: Peruvian ceviche with “tostones” (fried green plantains) and Chardonnay.
  7. I don’t enjoy heights but I don’t avoid doing things that are height related if they are worth it.
  8. I spent one night in a monastic cell at La Tourette Monastery. It was a good experience but I didn’t like the space at all!
  9. A unique experience I had was my flight over the Los Andes Mountains from Chile to Argentina. The greatness of nature is intimidating.
  10. I enjoy spending time with family and friends especially on Christmas, my favorite holiday.
