Portrait of a GFFer: Allie Balling

Meet Allie Balling. Allie grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where she then moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University. She spent a year at Tech when she decided to transfer to Texas Christian University. The ‘Horned Frogs’ stole her heart and she now bleeds purple; RIFF RAM. Read below for more about Allie!

  1. I started college as a Geology major thinking I would work in the oil and gas industry, but that only lasted one semester. Sorry dad, it was a little too boring.
  2. I never thought I would live in Dallas (Fort Worth girl forever), but now I love it!
  3. Even after taking Spanish classes, traveling to Mexico, and growing up in San Antonio, I can speak maybe 5 sayings in Spanish. ¿Dónde están mis llaves?
  4. Frank Sinatra radio is always playing at home, in the car; anywhere I go. I can’t get enough of him and Bing Crosby. Maybe I was born in the wrong generation…
  5. I LOVE to travel, but am also a total homebody.
  6. I’m one of those weirdos that likes cauliflower EVERYTHING. Rice, pizza crust, gnocchi; I’ll eat it all. That’s what my freezer contains.
  7. With that said I could probably live off tacos… (I have made cauliflower tortillas!)
  8. I HATE spin classes. I try to like them, but I can’t get on that bandwagon.
  9. I’m a terrible runner but for some reason always find myself doing 5K’s with friend and fellow GFFer Mariah Trevizo. (She’s always waiting for me at the end)
  10. I’m a die-hard Spurs fan of course. ¡VÁ SPURS VÁ!
