GFF Welcomes Doug Neri as Director of Education Practice

Please join us in welcoming Doug Neri as GFF’s Director of Education Practice. Doug joins GFF from Stantec and Robert A.M. Stern Architects in New York, a firm that GFF has recently enjoyed collaborating with on the Winn Science Center at St. Mark’s School of Texas. Graduating from the University of Houston in 2003, Doug has spent the last 15 years working across the world on projects from higher education to commercial office and various others.

During the last three decades, GFF has been proud to serve a variety of education clients and has developed an extensive education project portfolio. Doug’s diverse background will help GFF continue to expand and strengthen our education practice in Texas and beyond. “GFF has a reputation amongst its long-standing university clients and the community at-large as a trusted steward of their campuses and vision,” said Neri. “I joined GFF to continue that tradition and take the education practice to the next level.”

“Education is one of the cornerstones of society,” continued Neri. “I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to work with extremely passionate and talented educators and administrators.”

A passion of Doug’s is how we integrate technology in society during this time of rapid change. He has been involved with multiple finance trading labs, distance learning applications, specialized video conferencing units, augmented reality, virtual reality applications and many others. “We are in a revolution,” he said. “Whether it’s technology, digital intelligence, or automation, we as human beings are living, working, and learning differently with each passing generation. As architects we are at the crossroads of how humans use and are introduced to emerging technologies and processes daily. It’s a very exciting and absolutely fascinating time to be an architect.”
