Earlier today, a number of us GFFer’s went out to lunch to celebrate and remember our friend and colleague Clark Key. We stuffed our faces and swapped stories at one of Clark’s favorite BBQ joints, Lockhart Smokehouse over in the Bishop Arts District.
Clark was a legend here at GFF, and was loved and admired by coworkers and clients alike. He was a kind and supremely caring friend and mentor here within the office, and a wonderfully respected and meticulous architect; the relationships he cultivated with clients while pouring himself into projects of all scales and typologies, including landmark projects such as Park Lane and the Texas A&M University Central Texas campus, are still sustaining work for the firm today. We could always count on seeing Clark’s pickup parked in his corner spot under the tree, and his desk lamp burning, no matter how early we came into the office! Few people embodied the GFF family like Clark did, and though cancer is cruel and took Clark from us two years ago last week, his wit and wisdom still resound within these walls.
