A Destination Workplace Comes To Life
The event of the season is fully booked. We’re not talking about the Weir’s Plaza Grand Opening Event that was held on the 17th of February for friends, partners, and neighbors of this yearslong effort to transform the property into one of the most stunning mixed-use projects in Dallas. We mean that the new office space is 100% leased before construction has even been completed. Despite a tumultuous two years and, at times, a lack of confidence in the office sector, tenants have flocked to this project because of its meaningful design, high-end amenities, rare views of the city and what its location represents for businesses that want to be in one of Dallas’ most transformative areas.
When Four Rivers Capital began this effort years ago and hired GFF to lead them through the entitlement process and design phase, we shared their vision to rehabilitate an iconic Knox District location into a dense, mixed-use project. The design encourages engagement with the street and a more pedestrian-oriented approach to both workplace and leisure in one of Dallas’s most up-and-coming neighborhoods. Our firm congratulates them on delivering in a big way. Not only have they energetically led the project, never compromising on the vision, they have set a precedent for the many future projects that will build on the Weir’s Plaza example.
Congratulations are also in order for JE Dunn Construction – This project was never going to be easy to build. A highly complex urban site and meaningful visibility within a neighborhood that truly cares about development and place-making meant that JE Dunn needed to be both masterful builders and great stewards during a hectic two-year construction period. The project has come together beautifully and is nearing the finish line as we await furniture and the detail fixes that render a project complete.
The project will come together more completely over the next few weeks. GFF can’t wait until tenants can hang out in the 3rd level lounge space!
The Grand Opening was a great time to celebrate a highly successful project and say thank you to partners and neighbors as we look towards the completion of construction.
The views from the office spaces are stunning. One can see Downtown Dallas, Fair Park, the Trinity River, and all of Uptown! We are told that you can even see the Cowboys stadium if you have 20/20 vision.
