Trinity River Comprehensive Land Use Plan

In 1998, the citizens of Dallas voted $246 million in bonds to fund the initial phase of the Trinity River project, including flood protection, recreational amenities, several lakes, a new riverside parkway and the preservation of the Great Trinity Forest. Our study, led by HNTB with GFF as urban design specialists, is designed to establish a comprehensive land use policy for the corridor and predict the economic impact that will accrue because of the public investment. GFF prepared urban design framework studies for each of 22 primary study areas along the river and illustrated “prototype” development configurations on 10 high profile sites.
