University of Texas at Dallas Campus Master Plan Update

Dallas, Texas

The new master plan for the University of Texas at Dallas envisions the growth of the 460-acre campus to the year 2020, and a student enrollment increase to 25,000. UTD recognized the need to place required student housing in the context of the overall growth expected in the next 25 to 30 years. A bold plan for campus land use identified major circulation systems, future building sites, residential villages, parking areas, an open space system and reserve tracts for supporting uses such as shopping centers, corporate offices and a performing arts complex. The master plan is flexible to respond to changing emphases and priorities of the University, and is phaseable, with the intermediate increments of developing yielding a functional and attractive UTD.
