Dallas Arboretum Parking Garage and Underground Walkway

Programmed to serve the Dallas Arboretum Main Campus and new Children’s Garden, this 1,150-space, 5-level, 460,000 SF parking garage was designed to be consistent with the Arboretum’s unique garden character. An enhanced underground walkway safely connects visitors from the lowest basement level to the main campus, eliminating the need to cross 6 lanes of traffic on Garland Road. The main façade is composed of a steel lattice that references an organic pattern and marks the entrance as well as the vertical circulation. Buff colored precast, copper and limestone tie the garage structure to the materials used in the main entrance of the campus. Planters around the perimeter of the elevated structure soften the mass of the building from the exterior while marking the arrival to the garden from the interior.
