Burnet Marketplace, a mixed use project planned for a 3.9 acre site in north Austin, will bring a renewed energy to a section of the bustling North Burnet Road corridor. 328 apartments, including several ground-floor live-work units, will combine with over 10,000 GSF of retail and restaurant space and an intimate open-air farmers market to create a vibrant mixed-use atmosphere. Sandwiched between Burnet Road and Burnet Lane to the east, 4-stories of wood-framed apartments will top a cast-in-place concrete retail podium to create a strong presence along Burnet Road, while stepping down to four stories at-grade along the east side of the site to address the scale of the neighboring residential neighborhood. Structured parking will accommodate residential and retail tenants and visitors. Two private courtyards will include a sparkling pool in one and a quiet zen-like atmosphere with rain gardens in the other for the residents to enjoy. The project will meet the Austin Energy Green Building Program at a 2-Star level.
